Ah, I love this short little story! I am a huge fan of cemeteries and would love to see this one, especially as it is historic. And I had not known of the Armenian connection to India.

Thank you, as always, for an entertaining and educating read! I wish you both a lovely season of winter holy days. Blessings to you!

Ah, now THAT would be lovely!

I also forgot to say how much I loved hearing the Armenian of giving gifts on Epiphany. I always follow the 12 days of Christmas and tell folks that the holiday isn't over until Epiphany. When I visited Spain in 1997, I was so happy to discover that most gave gifts on Jan 6th instead of 12/25. not sure if that is still true...

That's interesting, the giving of gifts on Jan 6th in Spain. Other European countries also follow that custom, I think. We shall explore! :)

Dear Story Birds,

Merry Xmas! Story Birds make me smile, entertains me and I learn something at the same time! It's a terrific investment of time. The illustration of the Armenian Christmas was quite beautiful-I looked at it for quite a while. I also love the image of the rotund sparrow feeling quite faint at the very THOUGHT of fasting for a week!:)

Happy 2023 and please keep those stories coming.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write in. It means a lot to us. As for the illustration, we were both very moved by the thought of the light of hope being taken home from the church and kept burning all through the night and all of Christmas day. So happy you liked it.
